The Importance of Family Involvement

Elementary schools are usually quiet and deserted in the evenings, long after the kids have gone home. On the night of October 20th, something was different at Wherry Elementary School on Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque. If you had walked into the cafeteria on that night, you would ask yourself, "What are all these families doing here?" Students, moms, dads, siblings, grandmas and grandpas joined Wherry's principal, teachers and district staff members for a workshop.
